Sonoma Valley Native Bee Count with Dr. Gordon Frankie, UCBerkeley

For the last four years, SEC and Cittaslow Pollinator Pals has coordinated the UCBerkeley Urban Bee Lab Native Bee Count for Sonoma Valley. Volunteers are trained to capture bees in their native environment in order to survey the numbers and types of bees present and then to compare those numbers each year. In surveying three sites, the participants learn conservation of bees and other insects that visit flowers, why bees are important, statewide findings on the bee/flower relationship, and stewardship of bee gardens.

All participants need to be preregistered with Shelley Arrowsmith, Bee Count Coordinator. 707 935 3420
